The hunt comes to an end at Easthaven. Torg set up camp outside of Easthaven where we found her. Through questioning, we found out that the culprit was Sephek Kaltro. We realize that he is likely stalking his next victim in Easthaven, someone who is avoiding the sacrifices. Preparations are made for a confrontation.
Before, we met with the speaker of Easthaven one last time for payment of the magical cauldron. There was a robbery going on for the cauldron that we were able to foil and even dealt with a ghost haunting the town hall, which the speaker was thankful for. The payment was good but there was more that needed to be done.
We tracked down the killer to the streets of Easthaven. Sephek was unlike any other man in the Icewind Dale as he was left untouched by the cold and fought with dark ice daggers. The fight dragged on. Sephek knew how to fight as the killer he was but he was outnumbered four to one and ran.
My companions pursued after them while I decided to take a different approach. Went down a different alleyway, and when I came out, I had a clear shot on Sephek. My arrow didn’t kill Sephek but it did slow him down enough for Keeneye to finish him off with a swing of his sword. Our work was done.
The rest of the day was spent traveling back to Bryn Shander. We left the body in Easthaven and arrived at the Northlook to meet with Hlin. She paid us for the job. From the looks of it, my new companions have no intention of going separate ways. Which is good given the many rumors of what is happening.
We settled to rest in Northlook so that we can travel to Caer-Dineval tomorrow to look for Huarwar. I intend to wake up early. There is work that needs to be done before we travel. We’ll need the help we can get to deal with the threats plaguing my home.
